A Celebration Night of Great Heights at the Brighton i360!

Friends and supporters of the Starr Trust gathered at the Brighton i360 on 30th November to celebrate all the charity’s achievements during 2022 and to meet some of the young Starrs and families the charity has been able to provide life-changing support to. The event was generously sponsored by Rubix VT and attended by over 200 guests who were treated to a festive night flight on the Brighton i360 followed by some delicious food and sparkling wine to raise a glass in celebration of a successful year.

Guests were then welcomed into the theatre styled event space which had been beautifully dressed by Fabricate and enjoyed some live upbeat renditions from local choir Vocal Repertoire before hearing about the work of the Starr Trust during 2022.

Founder & Chairman of the Trust, Rob Starr talked of completing a personal year-long 52x52 Triathlon Challenge and was surprised on the night by business supporter Ryan Heal of Best of British Events, who presented a huge cheque representing funds raised during the year at their events and took the fundraising total from Rob’s challenge to over £104,000! Ryan Heal, MD of Best of British Events said: “To support any charity at this time of year means a lot but to support the Starr Trust, and in particular Rob’s Triathlon Challenge felt even more special given the achievement involved. 52 weeks of endless commitment to a cause. It has been a pleasure to work alongside the Starr Trust this year and we feel very proud to be able to hand over such a large sum (as £18,000) to help continue their vital work.”

The date also marked Chairman Rob Starr’s 52nd and final triathlon of the year which was generously sponsored by Brighton i360. Ian Hart, CEO of Brighton i360 said: “What Rob personally achieved this year was outstanding. An amazing achievement and all for a great cause. Giving young people the opportunity of a better start in life! We support the Starr Trust because it is an impressive organisation, with an impressive and selfless team, doing impressive things. We are proud to be associated and help this great charity in any way we can, such as sponsoring the final triathlon and hosting the Celebration Night in recognition of Rob’s achievement and the Starr Trust’s great work.”

New Ambassador of the Starr Trust, Simon Haffenden of Brighton i360 also spoke to guests about why he has come on board to support the work of the Trust and pledged to continue playing his part in helping to remove roadblocks for young people in need.

Long term and new supporters of the charity also found out about how their involvement has made a real difference this year and heard from the fundraising team on what is coming up next year to get involved with before being given a tasty goodie bag to take away - kindly donated by chocolatiers Brighton Cacao Company.

Special thanks to: Rubix VT, Brighton i360, Fabricate, Brighton Cacao Company and all who came along to support on the night.
