Ian Poysden Is Our Starr Of The Night At Midsummer 'Live From Las Vegas' Ball - Raising A Show-Stopping £20,000!

On Saturday 25^th June, Hilton Brighton Metropole hosted their prestigious annual Midsummer Ball in support of 4 local charities who support young people in Sussex. The Starr Trust are proud to be part of this event and this year were especially excited by the act who chose to represent us, Mr Ian Poysden, Chairman of IEP Financial. Ian pledged to sing live in front of 500 guests on the night, an undertaking he said left him “Petrified”.

Each of the four charity beneficiaries had an act representing them voluntarily and their performances included various Vegas style dance routines from local business people to raise funds for their chosen charities. Other charities benefiting from this year’s Vegas-themed fundraising ball included; You Raise Me Up, Chestnut Tree House and Sussex Beacon.

Rob Starr, Chairman of the Starr Trust said: “Our dear friend Ian did us proud! We were blown away by his commitment to face his fears and perform for us! I cannot thank him enough for taking part and going the extra mile with his fundraising. This unprecedented amount of nearly £20,000 raised by an individual for the Starr Trust, will have a huge impact on young people who are reaching out to us for support”.

Ian Poysden, Chairman of IEP Financial said: “I’m very pleased to raise such a fantastic amount for the Starr Trust charity and very relieved to have ticked off one of my biggest fears of singing live in public in front of such a large and discerning audience! I look forward to following the updates from the Starr Trust on the young people this enables them to support and would encourage others to take a look at what they do and get involved however they can.”
